It’s been a few weeks since you made your 2010 New Year’s resolutions. By now there are a lot of you that have already given up on them. After all, we tend to set the same resolutions year after year. Lose weight, get out of debt, stop smoking, find a better job.

Well, this is the year to accomplish your financial resolutions. In order to do that, I know the best way is to start your own network marketing business. In fact, there are 5 reasons why you should.

Reason #1: The Economy

The economy is the first and foremost reason you should start a home based business.

The last two years haven’t been easy on a lot of people. The economy has continued to be in a downward spiral and every day seems to bring more bad news. If you look at the signs of double digit unemployment,a growing trade deficit and an exploding national debt, it all says we are in a recession. A recession can be great news for those who have a network marketing business.

I say that because people are looking for ways to earn extra income. Many are turning to the network marketing industry as a way to keep their day job and still bring in extra money while working from home.

Reason #2: Being Your Own Boss

The second reason to start your own home business is to become your own boss.

No one wants someone telling them when they have to be at work. How much their time and effort is worth. When you can take vacation. If you can have sick leave and if you are good enough to promote. But that is exactly what happens if you work for someone else.

When you are your own boss, you can set your own hours. You can give yourself a raise. You schedule your own vacations for whenever you want. You can be their for your kids if they are sick. Working for yourself means you create time freedom. Being your own boss gives you the freedom to be in control of your life so you can devote more time to the things that really matter.

It has always been the American dream to work for yourself!

Reason #3: Create Financial Security

Financial security is the third reason to be a home business owner.

What do people like the Rockefellers, the Johnsons and the Vanderbilts all have in common? During times of economic downturn, they all created financial security and generational wealth. While everyone else was looking for a handout or a bailout, they pulled themselves up by their bootstraps and created something out of nothing. Best of all, the same opportunity for success exists today, if you are willing to put forth the time and effort needed to succeed.

What is generational wealth? Generational wealth is money or something of value that gets passed on to your heirs. It is the foundation of a family legacy.

With most MLM companies, you can will your business up to three generations. That means as you are building your business and securing your financial freedom today, you are also building a way to provide security for your family tomorrow.

Reason #4: Taxes

The fourth reason to start your own home based business is to save on your taxes.

I have found that the tax benefits of a home business are own of the most overlooked aspects of a business. Did you know in the current tax code there are over 150 legitimate tax deductions for a home business owner to take? With the current tax code, there are over 150 legitimate tax deductions for the home business owner. This means that you can take off almost all your home based business expenses. All for just showing an intent to make a profit by working your business at least 15 hours a week. (And who isn’t able to make a profit by actually working your business?)

Reason#5: The Internet

The last reason I know you should build a network marketing business this year is the internet.

The internet has made marketing your home business easier than ever. The best thing is even a novice can learn how to market online. There are some excellent training programs out there that won’t cost you an arm and a leg (By the way, training and education expenses are tax deductible).

Most network marketing companies today, have some way of marketing online though most people don’t take full advantage of it. You want to set yourself apart with SEO (Search Engine Optimization), Web 2.0 strategies and branding of yourself. These techniques are easy to learn. You also want to find someone who is having success using the internet and use them as a mentor.

A great thing about internet marketing is there are so many ways you can market for free. You don’t have to use every single one of them. Get skilled with just a couple of them and you can earn a king’s ransom.

Leveraging your time is the other good thing about internet marketing. With traditional marketing techniques, you have to continuously perform the same action in order to generate leads. But with online marketing, your original marketing effort is still working long after you perform the action as long as you haven’t done it correctly. So as you continue to market online, your efforts are being compounded.

So the choice is yours, keep doing what your doing without any results to speak of or choose to do something new that will change both your life as well as your family’s. Do your own due diligence and find a home based business that you can succeed in today!
