It has often been said that “anyone” can have success in a home based business but, is that really true? Can everyone really succeed working from home? In this article I will attempt to answer that burning question.

As someone who has been in or around the home based business industry for many years, I’ve seen a lot of success stories. I’ve seen ordinary looking people who you would never guess were super successful turn out huge incomes all with the help of a home based business. However, I have also seen many people fail and fail big time. So what gives? Isn’t anyone suppose to be able to succeed working from home? Well here is what I’ve noticed.

Successful people have vision. Every company starts out small. It takes a person with true vision to be able to look at a tiny start up company and see where it’s headed. Even if they are starting out in a more well established company, it takes vision to see that they can have success.

People who fail are fault finders. You know the type. They always have ways the company can “improve” on something whether it be the products or the compensation plan or marketing. What I have found is the people who are constantly finding things wrong with everything are never successful. Successful people might see a thing or two that could be improved on, but they don’t let it hang them up.

Successful people listen to what other successful people have to say. It’s really like a game of follow the leader. If you watch what other people are doing to make money and follow it, then you, too, will have success. It’s really much easier than we tend to make it.

People who fail want to re-invent the wheel. I’ve seen lots and lots of people come into a company and brag about how they are going to change the game and create a whole new system for success. 99 times out of 100 those people fail. Why not just stick with what you know works?

Successful people don’t give up. Success with anything is going to take some time. There is no such thing as a get rich quick scheme, at least not a legal one.

People who fail, try for a little bit and then just give up. Trying a business for a month and then quitting means you didn’t really try at all. There isn’t a business alive that became successful in such a short amount of time. Unless you are willing to invest 2 – 4 years of your life in a business, don’t bother getting started. Of course you will see some small successes along the way but the big money comes to those who put in consistent effort over a significant period of time.

So what’s the verdict? Is it true that anyone can be successful working from home? I say no. Because not everyone is willing to do what it takes to see true success. But if you are willing to work hard and with consistency your success is guaranteed!
