Have you ever heard this before?
“Well, I’d like to start a home based business but they are just too risky.”
I know I’ve heard it probably a thousand times or more. The truth is, however, that investing in a home based business can actually be a safer bet than a college degree. Now, before you roll your eyes and shut me out, just listen to these three reasons and by the end I know you’ll see my point.
The first reason is time. Did you know that in the time it takes you to earn a traditional four year degree, you could be set for life with a home based business?
Most home based businesses take about 2 – 4 years to see success just like a degree. So what’s the difference? Well, once you get that degree, that is suppose to set you up for life, you still have to go to work every day. The hard part is really just beginning! Invest a few years into a home based business and you could be in a position to never have to work another day in your life!
The second reason is money. A traditional home based business will cost between $100 – $500 up front some more and some less. Depending on the college you choose a traditional four year degree will cost you tens of thousands of dollars. Most college students will have to take out student loans to cover the cost of everything and that means they’ll be paying for school for years and years to come.
It always makes me laugh when people say that a couple hundred dollars is too risky. I’d risk a few hundred any day rather than several thousand… wouldn’t you?
The final reason college is more of a risk than a home based business is that after all that school and training, there is still no guarantee that you’ll even have a job at the end of it all!
Almost everyone knows someone or several someone’s who have a degree and aren’t even doing anything with it. Either because they can’t find a job or they decided later on that they don’t want to do what they went to school for. When that happens you’ve wasted tens of thousands of dollars and several years of your life to pretty much end up with nothing.
When you own your own home based business, you can never be fired and even if you decide you don’t want to work for that company anymore, you’re only out a few hundred dollars! Are you starting to see my point?
So the next time you think to yourself about how risky a home based business is think again. Sure there is a little risk involved but it’s a small risk for huge rewards!
