That’s why I’ve created a list of the top 5 FREE Online MLM Marketing Resources that all home business owners should be using to explode their business’ growth.

Online MLM Marketing Resource #1: Facebook

By far the best place to start your online mlm marketing journey is on Facebook. Facebook is not just for kids and teens anymore. Now people of all ages of working and playing on Facebook. So if you have a home based business, Facebook is a my favorite of these online MLM marketing resources.

I have found Facebook to be very user friendly and easy to set up and it is relatively marketer friendly. Which means you can reach more people that you may not have been able to without it!

A couple of words of caution though, it is highly addictive so you have to manage your time wisely. You can easily get sucked into the world of chatting with friends, browsing other people’s profiles and playing games.

The other thing is you must understand your audience and how to market to Facebook users. People who are on Facebook are there to connect with other people. They are not thinking of buying something. Online MLM Marketing Resource #2: YouTube

One of the best ways to spread the news about your business is video marketing. YouTube is the best site to use for video marketing. The videos range from silly to informative. There are millions of new videos and millions of new subscribers each month. If you can garner if just a small fraction of that traffic, you can easily generate a five to six figure income.

5 Reasons You Should Start A Home Based Business In 2011

I am sure that you have already written down your resolutions for 2011. And within a few days there will be a lot of you that have already given up on them. After all, aren’t they the same resolutions you make year after year? Lose weight, get out of debt, stop smoking, find a better job.

Well, this year you should work toward accomplishing your financial resolutions. I feel that the best way to do that is to start your own home business. In fact, there are 5 reasons why you should.

Reason #1: The Economy

The economy is the first and foremost reason you should start a home based business.

The last 3 years have been difficult for a lot of people. The economy has continued to be in a downward spiral and every day seems to bring more bad news. With unemployment in the double digits for the first time since 1983, the trade deficit growing as well as our national and personal debts, the signs are all pointing toward a long recession, if not a depression. However, the recession is good news for home business owners.

The reason I can say that is people are actively searching for ways to make more money. Many are turning to the network marketing industry as a way to supplement their income from their day job while working from home part-time.

Reason #2: Being Your Own Boss

The second reason to start your own home business is to become your own boss.

Let’s face it, no one likes to have someone telling them when they have to be at work. How much their time and effort is worth. When you can take vacation. If you can have sick leave and if you are good enough to promote. But that is exactly what happens if you work for someone else.

When you are your own boss, you can set your own hours. Give yourself a raise anytime you like just by working a little harder. Take vacations whenever, wherever and for however long you want to. The fourth reason to start your own home based business is to save on your taxes.

Most network marketing companies today, have some way of marketing online though most people don’t take full advantage of it. You want to set yourself apart with SEO (Search Engine Optimization), Web 2.0 strategies and branding of yourself. You can easily learn these techniques. Find someone who is having success with internet marketing and use them as a mentor.

The great thing about the internet is there are multiple ways you can market for free. You don’t have to use every single one of them. However, if you become proficient in just a few of them, you can earn yourself a very handsome living for your efforts.

That is the other thing that is good about marketing your business online. You don’t have to keep performing the same action over and over again to generate leads like some traditional marketing techniques. With internet marketing, your original effort is still working long after you perform the action. So as you continue to market online, your efforts are being compounded.

My Biggest MLM Success Secret Is Don’t Be Afraid Of Failure

All people want to be successful in business as well as life. But I have found there is one over arching reason so many people don’t have the success they are looking for. They are afraid to fail. Quite frankly, the best MLM success secret I can tell you is to not be afraid of failure.

Some people just need to be reminded every day!

The fear of failure is a big reason why so many people elect to hold off on joining a MLM business. It’s because nobody wants to feel like a failure or risk spending money on something that may not pay off for them. However, the opposite is true as well. You don’t want to miss out on doing something that could drastically change your life just because you’re afraid.

Just remember that whenever you start a business, either a traditional brick and mortar business or a network marketing business, there is a possibility that you could fail. All types of businesses fail; home based and otherwise. So the risk is always there. But your risk of failing in a MLM business isn’t as high as you might think. Yes, there is a chance that you won’t meet all of your goals. A key MLM success secret is to make a plan for your success and stick with it. That will make your chances of failure are pretty low.

The only people who really end up failing in a network marketing business are those who aren’t willing to give it their best effort. I see a lot of people who are willing to get started in a business but they aren’t willing to ACTUALLY work for their success. They just assume that if they are a member of a company, the business will just build itself. Which we all know that is not true.

On the flip-side, there are those who DO work but they just aren’t consistent enough or they give up too early in the process. You cannot build a successful business in just a few months. It will take time. The true MLM success secret is if you are willing to work hard and invest the same type of time and energy that you would invest in any other type of business, you can have success and lots of it.

The Most Important Factor You Need Succeed In Network Marketing

A quick search on the internet and you will find a hundred and one ways to have success in network marketing. In fact, there is practically a whole training industry that has sprung up on how to succeed in network marketing.

Don’t get me wrong, everyone needs tips and training and there is a lot of good material out there. So I am not advocating that you don’t learn as much as you can. After all, isn’t that one of the reasons you are reading this blog post.

But as someone who has been around network marketing business owners for many years, I can honestly say that a lot of us are really just kidding ourselves about being in business. I can say that because until I got really honest with myself, I thought success would just find me. Well, it doesn’t!

So do you really want to know the most important factor you need to succeed in network marketing? OK, I’ll tell you! It’s hard work. Now before you get all upset with me because I might have just burst your bubble, let me explain.

It is simply not enough to just be a part of a great company and have a drive to succeed. It doesn’t matter how simple of a marketing system you have. If there is no action behind your intentions, the money is just never going to come. All success in life can only come after action is taken.

I have seen too many bright, driven, well-educated people fail in this type of business. The reason is they simply don’t do the work that it takes to really succeed.

So how just much work should you be putting into your network marketing business? For most people it is going to fall somewhere between 5 to 10 hours a week to 5 to 6 hours a day. Even though you don’t have to work your business like a full time job, you ARE going to have to put in more than a few hours a month.

Your goals will be the determining factor. To get your business to grow, it will take several hours a week of work consistently every single week. And I don’t mean spending time on a conference call or at a meeting but several hours actually WORKING your business- talking to people, giving presentations, marketing yourself aggressively online- real hard work.

I say all of this because, if you are reading this article and you are thinking about joining a network marketing business, then you deserve to know the truth. Unfortunately, there are too many people willing to tell you that their business practically builds itself when it coming to building it just to get you to join their business. And that’s just not fair!

Any business, whether a traditional business or a network marketing business, takes hard work and effort. You have to be intentional about how you utilize your time. But more importantly, you have to move from intentions to action. You do that by setting some time aside during the week and really work the business. If not, it just won’t work for you.

Now for the silver lining to all this hard work you are about to do! You will discover that when you do, working for yourself can be a truly amazing experience. I can’t think of a job or a boss that I worked hard for than myself and the rewards are out of this world!

Another thing you will discover about your efforts is the harder you work your business now, the easier it will be. That’s because a network marketing business tends to snowball. So the more work you do in the beginning, the easier it gets and the more fun it becomes.

So don’t let the hard work discourage you because once you start to see success in your network marketing business, you’ll never want to go back! Just don’t be fooled by the people who tell you that you won’t have to work for it because you most certainly will!

While that may be great for a company’s bottom line, it isn’t for the people who work for them since they are not the ones at the top of the corporate pyramid receiving the big bonuses.

So what should you do to protect yourself and your financial future?

I have found there are two fundamental things that you should start doing today! They are to change your current mindset about how you earn money and find a way to secure your future.

First, let’s look at changing your mindset. So what is a mindset? It is a way of thinking. Your attitude or opinion. It is your state of mind that effects your attitude to events and your ability to make decisions.

With that definition in mind, realize that you are the only person who is going to be looking out for your best interests. You CANNOT rely on your employer to provide you with a good income, benefits or retirement plan.

You are the only person who can secure your financial future. Educate yourself to change your mindset about money, jobs and how you look at yourself. One of the best ways you can do that is by educating yourself through goal-setting books, CD’s, seminars, etc. There is so much good material out there that will help you achieve more in life. After all, your personal paycheck should never exceed your personal development in life.

Second, you need to find a way to secure your future by earning extra income today. But how to you go about doing that? I have found that a home based business is the best way to accomplish this. You can start part time and learn the skill-sets (listening, communication and presentation) that it takes to eventually quit your job on your terms not your company’s.

After you have found the genre of home based business that you like, find a mentor and pattern yourself after him or her. Success leaves clues and many network marketers love to work with open-minded people who will eagerly follow their clues and have success of their own.

So, take the necessary steps today to secure your financial future. After all, you never know what tomorrow will bring in the corporate arena.

So you want to be a MLM superstar? Most people think that requires sponsoring lots of people. But I disagree with that notion. I believe it is the relationships that you develop that lead to massive success. Why do I say that? It’s because relationships are key to your network marketing business’s retention and it’s that retention that creates consistency within your group and that positions your for continued growth.

Retention is critical to your network marketing business. With a network marketing industry average retention rate of 20%*, that is like losing 8 of every 10 people you sponsor. This is why it is vital to do things such as working in depth with your group and encouraging those working to move up the ranks, being available for 3-way calls and having weekly communication with the whole group. If you do nothing but to sponsor someone, it will destroy your profits. That is because more than likely you will be spending more money than you are making just to recruit new people to replace the ones that are leaving.

Think of attrition as passing a fire bucket full of holes. It doesn’t matter how much water it starts out with, by the time you get half way down the line, you are out of water unless you stop and fill it up again and again and again.

So how do you start to strengthen the relationships with your downline in order to increase your retention? The answer should be really obvious, but I’ve broken it down into three steps.

Step 1: Getting to know the people you recruit into your Network Marketing business.

If you learn what it is they really want, help them define their “WHY”, then you are able to hold them accountable to themselves and their business. It shows that you care enough to remind them of what is most important to them (bringing their wife home from her job, buying a house, paying for their kids education) and to guide them toward those goals.

Step 2: Remember, people deserve personal attention and respect.

Remember, most of the people you will sponsor into your business are currently professional employees who are just starting to set out into the world of entrepreneurship. That means that they more than likely are just a number to a company and receive little if any respect for the work that they do or personal consideration by their boss.

It is important for the people you sponsor to know that you really do appreciate them for who they are and not just the paycheck that they provide you.

Let your downline know how much you respect their choice to make a better life for them and their families. Exhibit the basic courtesies of saying, please, thank you and congratulations. Do the extra little things like remembering their Birthdays and Anniversaries, thank them for their military service, etc. These are simple little touches that show you care and strengthen a relationship.

Step 3: Offer yourself as great value to them.

You need to be knowledgeable about your company and how to market yourself and your products, but what your DON’T want to come across as is a Marketing Guru who is unapproachable and who won’t have the time for them. Remember, people will listen to what you have to say as long they don’t feel like you are patronizing them. Always talk with them.

If the people you sponsor into your business see you as a friend, confidante and a leader, then you are well on your way to having a business partner for life.

The most valuable thing you have is your time and people appreciate you sharing your time with them. I was lucky enough to be sponsored by one of the top ten money earners in my last company. He was a great sponsor, but the downside was that he was so busy that there was a 24-48 hour response time to your phone calls and emails. That meant you had to coordinate 3 schedules for a 3-way call and training questions were delayed. Simply put, he did not have enough time to effectively work with his downline.

Remember that as you are building relationships, people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.

I have never found a truer statement that can apply to all aspects of life. Building a relationship comes down to living the Golden Rule. Always treat people the way you want to be treated. This truly is the foundation of relationship building.

So my challenge to you is to get to know the people you sponsor, give them the respect they deserve and bet of great value to them by sharing your time and your knowledge. As you implement these tactics, you will be on your way to beating the industry retention rate and on your way to creating financial freedom for you and your downline.

Just about everyone has played Monopoly at one time or another. When it comes to your network marketing business’ internet marketing strategy, it’s a lot like a giant Monopoly board. If you know how to play the game, you will do very well. But if you don’t, you just might miss out on a lot of money.

Everybody knows that in the game of Monopoly you can’t start to really build on your property until you have all of the same color. If you own Boardwalk and Park Place, you’ll make a lot of money, but if you only own Park Place, you won’t make as much. So what does that have to do with your network marketing business?

Well, when you are deciding on the name of your website and you’re trying to brand yourself on the internet, you want to make sure that you are using something that you can “monopolize”. That doesn’t mean that you have to be 100% totally innovative, it just means that you need to find a name and a niche that you can make your own.

Say that you want the domain name HomeBasedBusiness.com (just as an example because that domain has been taken since 1998) you would then want to find every place possible for you to use Home Based Business on the internet. You want to name your Youtube channel youtube.com/homebasedbusiness. You want your Twitter name to be HomeBasedBusiness. You want your blog to be homebasedbusiness.blogspot.com. You get the idea!

Just remember, whatever you go with, you need to brand yourself with it as much as humanly possible. You want to make sure that whenever people type in home based business into their search bar, they get you and not someone else. By picking a name and niche that can be almost totally yours, you will be able to dominate and brand yourself in a much more effective way.

When you are buying a new domain name or when you are thinking of the name of a new product promote, you need to think about all the different ways that you can use that name on the internet. Just the .com site by itself isn’t enough anymore. With so many social networking sites out there and keywords playing such a big part in your success on the internet, you can’t afford to just have a great domain name. You need to brand yourself completely on the internet.

Building a successful network marketing business online is just like a game of Monopoly and when you have all the right pieces in place, you can’t lose!

There is something I just don’t understand. Why do so many people listen to their broke friends? I’ve wondered this for years and years. Sure it’s fine if you want advice on dating or clothes I guess that’s OK, too. But why take advice on money from someone who doesn’t have any?

There is something that successful people know that your broke friends will never ever tell you. That secret is when you join a home based business, any home based business, you can succeed or you could fail and the kicker is the choice is totally up to you!

You heard me right. Success is a choice! It always has been and it always will be. If you choose to fail you will and if you choose to succeed you’ll do that too.

So why would anyone choose to fail? Well, I really don’t think they know that they are doing it. If you join a business with the idea that you’ll “give it a try” you can stop right there. You’ve just made a choice to fail in that business!

If you join a business but you don’t want to tell any of your family and friends about it. Again, you’ve chosen failure instead of success. And if you join a business and barely work at it or only give it a month or two, you’ve chosen the road to failure.

So how then do you choose success? After all nobody joins a business and knowingly wants to fail. At least not any sane person that I know.

Well for starters, you can join the business with the mindset that it’s going to change your life forever. Don’t think small like an extra $500 or $1000 a month, think BIG. Nobody who “gives it a try” will ever see success. So take that phrase out of your vocabulary, right now.

You also have to be confident enough in your business to tell the people who are closest to you about it. This does not mean bugging your friends and family until they’re avoiding your calls and pretending like they’re not home. It just means that you should share it with them. If they say no, well that’s totally fine. You just shouldn’t be ashamed of what you’re doing.

One other way to choose success is to give yourself time to win. There isn’t a business alive that can promise you wealth in a couple of months. It’s going to take some time, but believe me it’s well worth it.

Get all the negativity out of your business and don’t let people tell you you’re going to fail. If you listen to them, you will fail.

Stop making the choice to fail and start winning! There is nothing like success in a home based business.

If you’re a part of a home based business, you’ve probably struggled with finding the time to work your business. Well, you’re not alone. Almost everyone I know has at one point said, “I just don’t have time!”

So here are a few helpful hints to help you find little pockets of time to work your home business in the midst of your ultra busy life.

One thing that has been extremely helpful with me and my business has been to write down how I spend all of my time during the week. Now I don’t just mean “home” or “at work”, but every single thing that you do during the day.

For instance I found that during a certain day of the week I was watching 3 hours of TV and on another night I was just surfing the internet for a couple hours not really accomplishing anything.

I promise you that even if you have the busiest of schedules, if you do this exercise you’ll find a ton of time you never even knew you had!

Another thing you can do to find more time for your business is to get up one hour earlier in the morning or go to bed one hour later at night. Of course, I don’t want you to be dead tired during the next day but one hour isn’t really that much and you can get a lot accomplished during that time.

A lot of people find it to be very effective to work their home based business on their lunch break from work. If you get an hour for lunch you can eat for the first 15 minutes and then make calls for the last 45. You can have some good conversations in 45 minutes.
